Linux 360 Burning Guide
« on: February 13, 2007, 06:09:00 PM »

I wasn't able to find a guide on here anywhere, so I thought I'd post my own.
Most people you ask for help with burning the 360 games with layer break will just tell you that if you are using linux to use wine.  unfortunately they dont really know what they're talking about, they just know wine will run windows apps.
while it is possible to configure wine with atapi/aspi/asapi support, it's a pain in the ass.  and thus apps like clone cd and imgburn will not work.

growisofs will work to burn 360 games and set the layer break, however command line burning is a pain in the ass to me.

luckily k3b has growisofs support.

open up k3b and go to settings, configure k3b
go to the programs panel
then user parameter tab
next to growisofs add the parameter
CODE
-use-the-force-luke=break:1913760 -dvd-compat

this will force layerbreaks on any dual layer dvd you burn. keep this in mind if you burn movies onto dual layer disks

then just go to tools menu, burn dvd iso image.  choose the iso file and burn.

no more vmware or installing windows just to burn games \o/

Can also be done from the command line:

growisofs -use-the-force-luke=dao -use-the-force-luke=break:1913760  -dvd-compat -speed=4 -Z /dev/dvd=FILENAME.iso
