What speed should I be burning at using dual layer verbs?

I have read that slow is best but then also read elsewhere that 4x works the best ..


I tried both and both work fine, the only difference being that 2.4 takes 40 minutes and 4x takes 20 minutes.

Am I best sticking with 2.4 or is 4x ok for burning at?

I would do what works best for your game backups.  Most people have been burning fine at 4x and it does save time.  If time is not a big factor, then you can burn it at a slower speed.

I burn at max on my burner (8x) and havent had a bad burn yet.

Honestly I have NEVER burned mine at less than 4x and never had a problem.  I've even burned at 8x, although when I burn at 8x I do notice that the initial load takes a while.  So I usually burn between 4x and 6x.

burned my first game at 4x.  burned all the rest at max.  i've done around 30 by now.  8max is the way to go in my opinion.  i dont know what initial load time taking too long is supposed to mean, but all my games boot within 5 seconds of inserting them into the 360.  when i say boot, i mean the 360 recognizes the game disc and jumps to the first screen of the game's boot sequence.

What I mean is that I had a couple of games burned at 8x that took about 15-20 seconds to do the initial load when I burned them at 8x.  Once you get into the game then everything is normal.
