Need Help Backup Up Game
« on: February 09, 2007, 12:55:00 PM »

Sorry, I meant need help BACKING up game.

Hi All,

I'm a newb at this so please bare with me. I just recently had my 360 flased last week. So far I own 5 games and I have succesfully backed up two of my games (NBA 2K7 and LostPlanet). I tried to backup my copy of Dead Rising Last night.

I'm using the hot swap method with a Pioneer 111D Drive, WXripper and clone CD. When I try to start the dump, I always get a redundancy error on the forth line of the copying process. I tried editing the first three lines of the text file with diffrent combinations of C' and D's, but I still get the same error on the third line.

The only time the dump went smoothly, was when I changed the 4th line to a D. ( Was that wise? ) I grabbed the correct ss.bin file and merged it and the iso came out to 7.15 gigs. I burned it on the same memorex DL+R's I've been using and the burn went well with clone CD. But when I try and put the game in my system its either contantly trying to read the disc or (when i power on the system with the disc in it) it just stays at the xbox logo.

Can someone please help me in backing up this game properly before I make more coasters.

THANKS! I appreciate and help or info on this matter. I just want to back up a game I like playing a lot.

Okay, so after some really hardcore online searching. I finally found the solution. I'm posting this up because I see that people have been viewing my post but no response. So this is what I did. I basically came to the conclusion that the "hot swap" method is not the best method and people have been informing me that it takes too long. I found the samsung PC DVD drive that can be flashed to read 360 originals. So, I bought it off of ebay since it was discontinued. And I used that drive to dump my original game to an image on my PC . Then I used the Pioneer Drive I originally had with Clone CD (and verbatim media of course). Slow burn... and Presto! Perfect 1:1 Backup.

I saved my investment  in such a fun a unique game. Capcom rocks.
