Interesting as it is sold through a Best Buy private label "Dynex"... hmm...
Anyhow, thanks for all the info. I was able to use the 800 disc to reflash to Xtreme 5.2A and now Smackdown loads up and plays perfectly fine. I'm not sure if it were the media or not, but maybe my other "coasters" weren't coasters at all and it was just the read speed affecting them? All of my backups have worked without issue; just wish I didn't pitch the 2nd burn of Smackdown so I could see if it worked or not. Oh well, it as worth the try.
I'll research some more on the discs, as I know the other Dynex DVD discs are CMC (DVD-R, same as Memorex for the most part and are junk) and Ritek for the DVD+R (which I've had great luck with for DVD backups.) I saw your thread on disc distributors and brands; this was info I always knew about and kept in mind when purchasing. Just out of curiousity, how do you know for sure that these discs aren't made in Hong Kong? I mean, how is that big retailers such as Best Buy can be buying "bootleg" DVD's by the warehouse-load?
