just FYI, you know there is a problem with pioneer 111 and  NME 1.1 used on a X360 Hitachi drive.
If you have nme1.2 or a x360 samsung then it is OK.

you can try version 1.29 also,

No sosotiit, I was not aware of that.  I recently got the Pioneer DVR-111D because it seemed like a good one based on the reading I had done  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)   I am having no luck with current set up.

Do you mean firmware version 1.29 for the Pioneer?

yes and no,
What I am saying is that there is a conflict between NME 1.1 (not NME 1.2) when used on an Hitachi (not Samsung) X360 drive that does not allow pioneer drive to work (all firmware from what I know). Other combinations are good but from what I have seen
NME 1.1 + Hitachi + pioneer is a NOGO, you will need a different burner.
If it is your situation  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)  you can check NME underdog website or our forum on modchips to find more about it.

Now if that is not your specific situation (you have a NME1.2 or a samsung X360 drive), then yes I was talking about 1.29.
Hope it helps

Hi can i ask if you have tried the same game all the time or different titles?

I ask this because i know someone who has the copied MO360 chip with the NME ROM and it has a serious problem with a few games... all work ofcourse with Xtreme Drives..

He has a Samsung MS28 and i think he has an NME 1.1 firmware... this to me seems like even more of a reason to flash a drive rather than chip one...

I do not wish to start an Softmod vs chip battle...

In your case i would suggest a backup from a different brand of drive.. possibly plextor or NEC as the LiteOn may give the same results and it is what I use.

sosotiit, I should have provided more information, I in fact have the Samsung drive so i think I should be okay, thanks for the info. though I had not seen that one.

I will try and update to the 1.29 firmware and see if it helps.

softbox, I only own three games (PG3, NHL 07 and Top Spin) and have tried to back them all up numerous times with no success on any of them.

Thanks

I will not argue with you, the ironic thing is that the reason I went with the mod-chip was that it seemed like the simpler option, based on the reading I had done  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohmy.gif)

Thanks for the post sosotiit, there is some good information.  I had a question about the size of the image file.  In your post it says it should be 7,572,881,408 bytes but on the Team underdog website they say it is supposed to be 7,705,657,344 bytes.  The only reason I am asking is that I have tried everything and can not get a working backup.  My image files all say they are 7,705,657,344 bytes.  Am I just confused on your post?  When I verify the image, as per your post, it says completes the operation successfully.

Thanks

Your image are the corrrct size for an NME image (7,705,657,344 bytes)" If the image verify as per this tutorial, you problem is not the burn. It is your chip or the content of the image itself.

Thanks sosotiit, I havbe run game sthat were burnt by others on my 360 so I assume that the chip is working.   I guess that leaves the image itself as the chief suspect but the process says it is working proposerly so I am not sure what is going wrong.

you know by now, we are  strict on rules about copies, plse clarify that statement, It leaves much to interpretation.

The NME backup is also functional on a flashed drive, have you tried bringing one of your original and corresponding backup to a friend and test it, it would validate if the image is good.

I apologize for the ambiguity in my post (reading it again I can see your concern).  What I had done, based on  a previous suggestion, was take my 360 to the person who had installed it to see if a backup that they had created would work, as this would prove whether the chip was installed correctly.  Their back up did work on my machine (two different games actually) therefore I had determined that the chip was installed correctly and the problem lay elsewhere.

My problem with your other suggestion is that I do not know anyone else with a modded 360.  The guy who installed mine runs a business, not a friend of mine, and he said he did not have a modded 360 to try my backups on.

Thanks for the suggestion and again sorry for the confusion, as I said in a different post, I own 3 games but can not get any of them to back up properly.

Thks for the clarification  smile.gif .

If the NME is OK...

We covered the verification of the burn; burner; media; compatibility to Hitachi, chip...

It seems the only thing left is the image itself. Now you need to find if it isthe Xtreme part of the image, or the NME patch made on your image by Associator that is the problem. That was the reason of my suggestion.

Last two things I can see
Some members reported that Associat0r sometimes as a prob to extract the ss and move it to the proper location using the Convert tab. Some people made it work by extracting the ss.bin from their image (use ssmerge, schtrom, XBCr) and then they called associator to do the merge+conversion using the seperate files in the Merge tab. For some it seems to do a better job at inserting a ss at the right place then moving it.

1) so do your image in XBCr on your SHD162C, then go in drivetools tab and this time extract the ss only.
then go in imagetool tab and do a stealth check to be sure all piece are there.
2) go in associator and select Merge tab select the .iso and the ss.bin you just extracted.

Since you have a SH-d162c and XBCr, It is likely the image is OK, so it seems a lot more an NME patching issue. There is a forum specialized on Chip (including the NME) would could also help you.

sosotiit, please forgive the stupid question but when I use Xbox Backup Creator to create the image I get two files (a .000 file and a .dvd file) but no .iso file.  Which one of these is used in the merge part below, or have I done something wrong and need an .iso file?

Thanks
