Can anyone else confirm they've played a game from A-Z from DVD-R DL media without a problem?

True, but I'm sure he is looking for other experiences.  It's all well and good for one person to have success with a given media/configuration but it's something else entirely to have several people confirm it.

2AM and I coastered my last remaining Verbatim +R DL. I had a Verbatim -R DL which I bought by accident, so I decided to give it a go. It works.

The game I used was Orange Box, which I haven't finished, but it is actually a number of different games spread across the disc. Have successfully played all of the OB titles for a minimum of an hour each with no issues.

Thanks btw, al_olk. Don't know why everyone has been claiming -R doesn't work, I never even thought about giving it a shot before.

Using:

Verbatim DVD-R DL

because DL DVD-R HASN'T WORKED UNTIL NOW and even now it only works with the Samsung drives with the latest firmware.  Generally speaking a quality DL DVD+R disc is more compatible (provided the booktype is set to DVD-ROM) and in some parts of the world (such as North America) they are significantly cheaper than DL DVD-R, hence the reason why a number of us have never really bothered with them.

I failed burning a copy with the Verbatim DVD-R DL. My DVD firmware is the iXtreme 1.2C.

Don't you all got the error "Cannot set the layer break position when burning dvd-r dl media in dao mode"? Í got it with 2 images, so I assumed there is another thing I need to do to burn them with the LayerBreak?

The image had a .dvd file with LayerBreak=1913760 in it..
