i have two of the dvd+r dl verbatim 3 packs and some burn good and some are coasters?? The box has the reorder # 95014, but the individual jewl cases have reorder# 94912. They are made in Singapore.. So what should i do to determine if these are good or not. Good thread! good way to not throw money away on future coasters. Also i've been burning at 2.4 is 4x really better ? thanks guys

Try at 4X It seems on my burner when it starts on the second layer it is way smoother at 4x, at 2.4x it made noises and the burns had about 5% sucess rate. I also noticed my XBOX seems to sound just like the originals when it boots, no more laser seeking. Now since I swithed to the MKM 001 and burn at 4X, I have had 100% sucess. I burned them  at 4x, I ran out of my other discs befor I tried at 4X, am very curious to know.

I have only seen them in the 20 pack cake box spindles. Just make sure the product
# is 95310. They are for sure the MKM 001 disks. The MKM 003 do not work very good. I just never could accept the fact that Pioneer was that the only burner that could write properly for the 360. Also everyone says use Verbatim, thats true, just make damd sure they are the right ones. And the 2.4X write speed thing, from what I read these DL disks perform best when written to at 4X.  And after I seen how succesful I have been after basically wasting 8 of the other discs. I will stick this way, and just wanted to share wilth everyone else. So please report back how it works for you.

I buy my 95310's in 20pack spindles from microcenter... fairly cheap...
I currently burn all backup discs at 4x in an NEC burner... 100% success rate, game load time is excellent, no noisy disc seeking that I can hear.  I want to know if anyone is successfully burning good backups w/ this media at 8x.  I was thinking about getting an 8x DL samsung or NEC burner, just cause I hate waiting half hour for a damn burn.... thats like... bringing me back to copying dreamcast game days  jester.gif

I heard anything over 6x the quality starts to degrade. I think for anything else it would be fine but on the 360 it is very fussy, so I would stick to 4X.
As far as the Dreamcast days, this is almost the same. Instead of an ip.bin its a ss.bin, and video instead of a 3 sec audio.
