Have you burn a double layer disk with the 111d and look at it in dvdinfopro (or other) after the burn to verify? The setting is imposed by the burner, software may not report it adequately before it is burned.

what media are you using?
If you rip with XBCreator the whole image (will be 7.05GB or 7,395,392KB)
it should contain everything. Try the stealth check option , it will tell you if all the pieces are there.
Burn one of your image with your pioneer on good Verbatim at 2.4X or 4X.

If that does not work try with a friend if your backup work on his X360 to see if you recipe is good.
Then try one of his backup just to see if your flashed drive is OK.

Ok will try that later ...you reckon IT IS DVD-ROM even though it says not everywhere?? I have tried all firmwares inc 111L and 111 flavour and all are the same.

I My Samsung 182D now refuses to change booktype again as well even though it held book type for days and several reboots, ...I can't get it to DVD-ROM again now sad.gif

All I am saying is that if you burn with your 111D and stock firmware on Double Layer, It should by design give you a disk that is Dvd-rom for double layer. If not return it.

By the way Ridisk is not in anyway the proper way to assess if your burner is good. Do your baseline with verbatim and then you can conclude  tongue.gif on your burner.

Some samsung requires to select the booktype before each burn (not sure if it is that model, but you can check on the web  google youdrive model and add bitsetting    or check at cdfreaks forums in the samsung threads).

You play the first few checkpoints of your game with the original while the backup "simmer" slowly @2.4x.

You do not even waste a minute!!! biggrin.gif

Finally just a curiosity is the sh-182D set to dvd-rom permanently , or does it have to be done each burn.
