Ss.bin Confusion
« on: December 28, 2006, 08:24:00 AM »

OK, I'm confused.

I read a number of tutorials before even begining to flash my 360, which led me to believe a SH-D162C PC Drive and a dual layer writer would be all I need to backup my discs.

I then tried this with COD2 with Schtrom360Xtract and Imgburn, and it worked.

However, I've since tried Pro Evo 6, and disc isn't recognised (this was ripped with Xbox Backup Creator if that makes a difference, and burnt with Imgburn).

I've been looking around the net, and now getting further confused by the need for ss.bin, I have two questions.

Do I need ss.bin based on the Samsung PC drive I bought? (not sure whether they're related, but thought Id ask)

If so, why did COD2 work?

Thanks

Daint

What I also find quite strange, is when backing up COD3, the backup performs without errors, I then put the disc into the 360, and a 3 appears bottom right, as though loading, but stops with a Disc is unreadable message????

If you found a method that works with the rip, why not stick to it?
Rip them all the same way.
