Afraid you are screwed man.  There really is no quality alternative to Verbatim at this point.  The one that people seem to have the most success with outside of Verbatim are Ritek but you have already tried Imation (which I believe are made by Ritek).  Do us a favor and pop in either a blank or burned Imation and use the following program to give us the media ID on them.  Remember that brand name means nothing in most cases, it is the manufacturer that matters.  I think I made the suggestion before that you try ordering from the UAE (United Arab Emerates) as they do a bunch of electronics importing and exporting in your region.
