Unplayable Disc/mixed Media Disk Error
« on: December 19, 2006, 12:34:00 PM »

Hi I just received my Samsung Sd-H163A (flashed Kreon v0.80) from vesalia.de and tried of make a backup of Kameo...

My Xbox has a Samsung M25 drive flashed Xtreme 3.3 firmware.

Burner is a Pioneer 111D...

First 2 disks images made with Xbox Backup Creator and gave unplayable Disk errors...

3 Disk made with Schtromm V3.1 and gave a Mixed Media Disk error...

Also XBC killed a disk at 99%  when writing

Backing up on Verbatim 8x disks at 2.4 speed....

Anyone have any ideas...

Have you done the rubber band trick?  I know that can fix a number of issues with the Samsung.  Or it could be a bad firmware flash on your drive (either the DVD-ROM or the 360 drive).

Rubber Band Trick???  I dont thnk the 360 Flash is bad, used my brothers PC to back up Gears of War previously and it works fine...this was urgent as this is a well used disk (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ....

I will try reflashing with Kreons however pc is a bare file server which runs nothing but windows, not even a sound card.....

Will report back later..

Just a update, after ruinng another 3 disks (would have been cheaper to buy a new disk as title is available as a budget title here in South Africa) finally got it to work with Schtromm 3.1 in debug mode( I saw an old post about 20-30 pages down) and my old Benq 1640(still the greatest DVD writer model on the planet)..

I am currently burning another image made with XBC whereby I manually unlocked the drive.. I noticed that after the manual unlock the size of the disk decreased as reported by XBC... If this works it will be great...

Thanks for suggestions
