Firstly, i have the samsung sd162c (or whatever its called, the kreon supported one (IMG:

I can very VERY easily make xbox360 backups with Xbox Backup Creator (all i do is choose to read the disc, then change to the burner up the top and then write, i love it (IMG:

And will i require dual layer dvd's (if the game is not on an xbox dual layer)?
I tried looking for some info on this, but i didnt have much luck. sorry if it was somewhere i overlooked
(also, i am aware the game needs to be on the Backwards compatability list)
you will do the backup just like the 360 game disc but instead of xbox360, it is xbox1 and also select the 'sector mapping' option. as for burning the .iso, i use imgburn and the layer break is different for xbox1. the .dvd file will tell you the exact layer break if you are using imgburn.
yes, it is good if you do check the backwards compatibility list if your xbox1 game is in it. also you will need to do a backward compatibilty update on your 360 console ( with a HD ) in order to play both xbox1 original and backup discs.
to download this file and burn it to a cd-rw. burn it as data, after you unzipped it, and insert it into your 360 console. it will update your console, instead or going 'Live'.
