Xboxbackupcreator?
« on: December 15, 2006, 06:06:00 PM »

Hey Yoll,
Is xboxbackupcreator all I need to make backups?  I have a Samsung ms28 drive with xtrem42 firmware.  I am also using a samsung SH-D162C drive in my computer.  I see other tuts about ss extraction but they appear to be pretty old.  Is Xbox backupcreator the new prefered easy method?

I dont need to mess with SS sector and all that Jazz?  Cause I did use it to make an iso file of Madden 07 and I burned it to a Verbatim Dvd+r DL dvd and it wont read.

Nevermind.  I, like an idiot, was using Recordnow to burn the iso.  I figured it out.  Thanks for trying to help an idiot.

I wish it was that simple.

It is that simple if you are using a supported drive with XBC. XBC reads all the information on the disc and places it in the correct location on the iso to make a working backup. All you have to do is burn it.

Yeah, It is that simple.  basically 1 button to read it.  Then take it out of your SH-D162C drive and put in a DL dvd and dont forget to change the drive at the top.  I was stuck there for a while.  I was like Why wont the start button ungrey itself so i can write it.  Cause it was still lookig at the SH-D162C drive.
It does take a while to read/burn the disk but it is well worth it.  Hey, Can someone tell me what the SPTI and ASPI buttons do at the top of XBBackup creator?

YES ITS THAT SIMPLE! This program is great. You dont have to manually do all those things. It's simple if you have a samsung drive. No need to worry about crc errors from hotswapping, and editing layout and hope you are not skipping/dummy needed files.

I however do not use xbc to burn, imgburn has been my trusted program for a very long time, i believe its less of a memory hog, and has better burning/underrun precautions. though my computer is above average to really worry about those things unless i purposely try and make that happen, its good to have some insurance as DL discs are not expensive and slow to burn at 2.4x
