Weird Stuff With Pioneer 111d
« on: December 15, 2006, 12:28:00 AM »

Hi, I've bought a pioneer 111d and I can't use it! It's recognized in windows but it won't read or burn any media inserted in it. It's like if I hadn't put anything in... I've tried to flash to the official 1.29 firmware then I tried the ones from Dangerous Brothers (1.06, 1.19, 1.23, 1.29) I even tried to crossflash it to make it a 111L but it keeps doing this. I've put the drive on the primary master with nothing else on the cable and I'm using a 80 core cable. I don't know what to do... Does someone knows about this issue... Oh I'm running Windows Xp Pro.

Thanks!

I assume you made sure that the jumper on the drive itself was set to master?  Did you check to make sure that the DMA was enabled on the 111D?

Yes DMA mode 4 is on... But even if it was in PIO mode it would have read cds.

You did set the jumper settings on the drive itself, right?  You would be surprised how many people overlook this simple task.

Yes, the jumper is on master position. I've also tried to install frog ASPI but it didn't changed anything so I reverted to ForceASPI (adaptec 4.60). I've tried to use DVD identifier, it recognize my drive but when I try to do the tests it says that not medium is present.
