Wtf? My Comstar External Dvd Burner Stopped Working All Of A Sudden

I have a comstar dvr-s111b, the external DL dvd burner. before I had a pc chrash and had to reinstall the windows, everything worked fluently. Since the reinstall, I had to upgrade the firmware to 1.29 pio, and still have problems burning the images. The burning seems never to get to 100% burn, just keeps either staying steady at 0% the entire time in clone cd or imgburn. I always end up getting coasters. WTF happened? Before everything was sweet and dandy but now I don't even know the reason for why everything stopped working like it did before??????????

I had Service Pack 1 Xp, now I got Service pack 2..could that be the problem or what??? I'm using the same verbatim media as always, nothing changed!
