Unfortunately I am no expert on the matter but the xbox 360 will read a DVD regardless of whether it is +R or -R, that is only the way that the DVD is being burned, not read.

Hope this helps  biggrin.gif

Only +R has the ability to change the booktype, use those.

I have yet to hear of anyone getting D/L DVD-R to work.  Definitely need to go with D/L DVD+R on the 360.  As others have pointed out it is more compatible by nature and in most locations it tends to be cheaper.

this is very old and i don't know if anyone still is around this forum

but does this only work on xbox 360's that are modded?

i had a theory that using a DVD Duplicator at my school (supports DVD+R DL), where i pop in an xbox game borrowed from a friend in the top and the blank one at the bottom.
in theory, it should work if it's not going through a computer
it's copying directly all of the information from the xbox disc to the blank one

so my question before i spend money on discs, is that would i need to mod my xbox to play the copied game?
cause i really don't want to =/

no man, it'll work fine. just be sure to get a load of Discs to try out. Modding the 360 is for suckers who don't have a duplicator, and friends with games.  wink.gif
