a friend made the backup of my game for me on his working samsung ms25

it is on a memorex DVD+R DL burned at 2.4x

I did see in a previous post that all games wether they are xbox or xbox 360 games have to be burned on a DL disc? if this is true then I see why the xbox backup didn't work because it is on a regular DVD-R.

but here is the deal about the 360 backup of my game. a friend of mine made it and then made it into an .iso file and I used DVD decrypter to burn this..

could that be a problem as well?

thanks,

my take is the backup was not done properly. There shouldn't be anything wrong with the flashing of your drive. Has the backup been tested running on his drive?

Without going into much details of the backup (piracy if u know what I mean). Why not create one yourself from your original?

yeah, I was getting to that. it is a back up of a game I own, but I didn't make it. I had a friend of mine make it before I even tried flashing my drive, that way I could immediately test it out.

I am going to try to make my own now, but since I had one that was working on another box I figured I would try it. my friend is using the same version 4.2a and it works on his console.

i saw somewhere that you need to burn the .dvd file? I burned an .iso file. could I maybe use iso buster or something to un-iso it and get to the file I need there? I know I'm just grasping at stuff now, but I was still hoping I could work this one out before I make my own.

thanks for the reply...

sounds like a disc burning error.
try using verbatim and burn it at 2.4x
and make sure the security sector is applied properly as well.

***with a sammy you cant do it from windows, you have to boot to dos***

****and i totally agree, this forum is the best out there. i would know absolutely nothing about this stuff if it werent for this forum!!!****
