hi

i'm using a sh-d162c drive with kreon's 0.81 firmware.

now when i open xbc i can't seem to extract the ss.bin file it gives me this error

sense error : 5 / 30 /02
UNKNOWN ERROR
CDB: READ DRIVE STRUCTURE
0xAD 00 FF 02 FD FF FE 00 08 00 01 C0

if i wonna make a backup and try
image style -> complete backup

i get also an error

but when i try
image style -> current partition
it does work.

if i extract the ss.bin out the image that i just made with the "current partition" task.
and compare it with the original ss.bin
using comp command in command prompt ,they are identical.

does that mean that you don't have to extract the ss.bin from a disc,and just extract it and burn ?

set the drive to master

i have not read a tutorial on the application, but my backups are working perfectly and i did not have to do anything special besides rip and burn onto +r dl media with a dvd-rom booktype. i will try to type the steps real quick for you...

1 insert gamedisc into d162c drive
2 start xbox backup creator and select d162c drive with either aspi or spti(both work for my d162c drive)
3 leave image style selection as complete backup
4 click start / then type filename into save window and click save
6 wait 20 mins or so and close xbc when done
7 insert +r/dl media into burner and change the booktype to dvd-rom/your options for this step will vary
8 start xbox backup creator and select your nurner with either aspi or spti(both work for my burner)
9 click start / then select the previously saved image and click open
10 wait 40 mins or so and close xbc when done

like i said, i do not do anything special with zxbox backup creator, but it is a very cool app. i guess i have also toyed with the image tools after ripping an image and everything checked out perfectly.

good luck!

try starting xbc and then putting in the disc.  sometimes you get an error when the disc is put in before xbc.
