I got me a pack of 5 VERBATIM DL disc +R <<---(Recommended) and all 5 disc made the backups with no problems oh and fast, Before i used XBC i did the Hot swap with the DVD movie (isobuster/ss merger/dvdinfopro/wxripper... method and didnt work for me i kept getting error and took forever and messed up some DL disc..
And with XBC the whole thing takes about 30 mins Read and Write.
Lets make this clear i have never try this on any other 360 drives as my drive is a Toshibe Samsung TS-H943 M$25 .

Yea now that I have an MS25, its all good. The hitachi was fine for playing, but making backups were just not reliable. MS25 and XBC FTW!

I am using the cheapest discs I found at my local store. Memorex (ritek) dvd+DL, burned at 2.4x using imgburn, tested with both ms25 and hitachi drive.

If I was stuck with my hitachi 47j drive, I would just get that pc samsung drive with kreon firmware. Worth the extra investment to know you can make a proper backup.

I found that sometimes it is necessary to manually press the unlock drive button, but not everytime. For backing up an Xbox 1 disc, I had to do this but not normally for Xbox 360 ones.
