Whtas The Best Way To Make A Backup

Try out Xbox Backup Creator (XBC not to be confused with Xbox Connect) or try Schtrom360Xtract.

I don't know about Schtrom, but XBC has both create and burn image capabilities.

1. Put your xbox 360 game disk in the SH-D162C and wait for windows to recognize it. Then open up Xbox Backup Creator. click on the Drive Tools tab and click Unlock Drive.

2. Click on the Read tab and then click start. This will bring up a box asking you to name the file thats going to be created and to set the location to save it as well. Name it game.iso

3. 15 minutes later, when it is done, you will have two files. One called game.iso and another called game.dvd.

4. Make sure your blank dl dvd is in you dvd burner, then click the write tab and select your burner in the drop down and click on start. Navigate to the game.dvd file and open it.

Xbox Backup Creator should start burning the image after you select it.

1. You could also use your 360 drive to create the image.

Is clicking 'unlock drive' from the drive tool section 100% necessary?
I haven't seen this in any other guides

What drive are you using to make the backup?

XBC has a lot of tools. If you want to make a full backup of a game, you just need to put the game into one of the drives that it works with (see list of drives in the options tab), Click the "Start"Button on the "Read" tab. It will ask you where you want to save it. it will read and merge the SS, and create a .dvd file for the image. then all you have to do is burn it appropriately. Done.

The other tools on the other tabs are there if you need them for other things... Like the "Stealth Check" button.

I tried to make a backup of my PG3 disc using the above method.  Everything seemed to work fine and the DVD was created with no errors but when I try to play it in the Xbox 360 I get a message that says "to play this disc put it in a XBOX 360" and will not play the game. Any idea why I am getting this message?  I am using Verbatim media, which I understand are the best and a Sony DRU-710 burner.

ANy help is appreciated.
