Unplayable Disc With Every New Burn

I have a Pioneer 111-D and the Hitachi Drive.

When I first installed firmware on my 360 the games worked perfectly everytime (for the first 5 burns) with ridata media.  These games still work perfectly to date.  After those 5 the next 5 I burnt came out as "unplayable disc".  I then updated my firmware from 1.23 to 1.29 on my pioneer burner - didn't help.  Tried both ImgBurn and CloneCD - neither worked.

Everyone says Verbatim discs are the best for the hitachi, so I bought some.  I still get the unplayable disc error on my 360.  I also saw somewhere that burning faster can help you have "no rings on the disc" so I tried the Verbatim discs at 2.4, 4, and 8x.  I still have the same problem.

I doubt this helps but what happens is - I put the disc in it starts to speed up like everything is about to load normally and then it stops and makes this repeated scratch sound (not actually scratching the disc).  Then after a bit it starts to load again(sound speeding up) and then I get  the "unplayable disc" error on the screen.  I have no idea what else to try.  Pleeeeeeeeeeease help!

I had this problem too, I think it was because I was burning the iso with clonecd without using the .dvd file.

I think this may be my issue too.  I got the DDE when I tried to backup NHL 07.  I noticed that there is an ISO file and a .dvd file when I rip the game to my PC hard drive using the Samsung Kreon drive.  How do I use the .dvd file when I burn the disc?  I'm using Verbatim media and I have the Hitachi drive.

Hello Everybody I flashed my Samsung Ms28 xbox 360 dvd drive and I have some of my
original xbox games backed up on dvd+r media.  I know they work because they work on my original xbox.  I have updated my xbox 360 backward compability to the August 2006 update and the game I'm trying to boot is supported.  When I put my backed up copy of Doom 3 on my xbox 360 my 360 recognises the game but when I launch it, it displays an error message saying there was an error trying to play your original xbox game
with an error code something with an X and a B followed by numbers.  Anybody know how I can fix this error?

Use CloneCD, point to the file.dvd (which contain your layerbreak) then burn.

ImgBurn also works well with this (I like it better, plus it's free).  As long as you point either of those programs to the .dvd file it will burn correctly through the image file on it's own.

no and even better is to let XBCreator call the right parameter for you.
Tutorial: XBCreator & Imgburn .
