Did you correctly insert your drive key before flashing, cause that is the error you will get if you didn't.  Does the original game work?

Yes my originals are working fine.

Might it have to do w/ bitsetting. I did not mess with that at all.

Shouldn't need bit setting for the new firmwares.  What are you using to backup the originals?  I use XBC with a SHD162C and works perfectly every time...
Also, make sure you set the layer break correctly...

I have tried my own personal backups and scene releases, same result.

"Please insert disc into a 360 console"

What is the layer break?

yeah, i dont think the dru-800 will auto bitset, you will have to do it manually as far as i know.

what's the best program for that. my drive was advertised as automatically being set to DVD-ROM, it also supports bitsetting.

but it seems like whether DVDInfoPro or ImgBurn, when I change the media in the drive to DVD-ROM, and hit refresh to show my drive status, it still reads the media as DVD+R DL and does not list it as DVD-ROM.

not sure what to do..  uhh.gif

Sony Drives are just rebranded. Meaning your drive is probably really a different drive. You can google to find what it is based on to make sure you are choosing the right drive type to bitset.

Also, some drives will not change unless the media is already in the drive, and then resets when the tray is open.

Downloading scene releases is against the rules.  I know you say your trying your own backups too, but if your DLing ISOs what's to stop you from downloading games other than those you own.

I'm not saying you're a pirate, but we have these rules to address situations like this, and those who are.
