The media code is a good one.

Use 1.29 dangerous bros.

Use Imgburn and make sure you set the layer break.

Yes, but the Ricoh media code is pretty widely faked among D/L media.  So check where the discs are made.  If they aren't made in Taiwan then they are fake.

You could try downgrading to the V1.23.  Not sure how that works though.  You could also go with one of the buffalo firmwares (8.xx revisions).
