Cyclic Redundancy Check Errors
« on: November 03, 2006, 08:30:00 AM »

Hey all.

I'm trying to backup my original of NHL 07 for the 360, using this tutorial:  http://www.clevermod....php?article=12

During the copy phase I received two errors, both the same, just at different points in the process:
Error @ 0 : Data error (cyclic redundancy check).
Error @ 1524736 : Data error (cyclic redundancy check).

Therefore, instead of the list of DONE's that the tut shows in step h, I've got:

Copy             0     19408      Done
Dummy  19408       1072      Done
Copy      20480    109344     89088
Copy    129824   1783936        0
Jump   1913760    322464     Done
Copy   2236224   1783936    1524736
Jump   4020160           0       Done

Any thoughts on how to avoid the CRC errors?

Much obliged,
Mike

C 89088
D 20256

C 1783936
J  322464
C 1783936
J 4020160

Changes you have to make

Just 109344-89088=20256 (where do you get the 89088? from your error msg.)

Change line 3 from 109344 to 89088
add the line 4
D 20256

Why the change? and what it does?
you are getting an error somewhere in the 3rd line.
don't do the whole 3rd line worth of read, just do some of it.
How much? well just enough to not to get the error past 89088.
then dummy the rest.
