which is the best and why ?

I have been using Schtrom360Xtract_V3.0 and so far everything can't be more perfect ...

is xbox backup creator better ?

both applications are very good....
both make stealth images i have been using scthrom because it is simple...
but i like  XBC because it has the burning feature built in so u don't need to screw around with clone cd it does  everything from start to finish...

No xbox bacup creator does not work with hitachi drives. I can 't make backups with my hitachi.

I've been using Xbox Backup Creator, so far no real problems.

I think i'll try out schtrom next.

Just so I understand. I just picked up my new Pioneer 111d DVD burner at lunch. I got my Samsung 162 with Kreon .81 firmware last week. Verbatim DL DVD media. I should be set with the hardware. I have XBOX Backup Creator 2.3.

With this setup, I should be able to ONLY use Xbox Backup Creator from start to finish....right?

With all of the various methods, I don't want to miss a step and make a few coasters, even though I got a good deal on the media.

I don't know with XBC but with schtrom, 1 button to backup the game into an iso and all you have to do is burn the iso .. that's all !

im a newbie to backing up
but dos the Xbox Backup Creator or Schtrom360xtract_v3.0 work the 360 78k drive if i use the new firmware tool box 3 and v78  smart hack pacher?

never used let alone herad of schtrom.. but if XBC works for me flawlessly and is as simple as 7 clicks,, why try something new?

I use both programs. They both are great. sometimes XBC is faster than Schtrom. You can name the image make my XBC but Schtrom360xtract_v3.0 just make image.000 files. When you rename the image file make by Schtrom 3.0, you'll have problem when you try to burn the iso. I use XBC' image tools to check and see if I get the correct image file.  Recently XBC can't pass getting ss files and get read error but with Schtrom I get the image file easily. So I use both.
