Topic: Possible Sh-d162c Alternative? (Read 70 times)

hey everybody. i (like most everyone else) have had a hard time finding the elusive Samsung SH-D162C rom drive. i did stumble upon this and am hoping someone can help. i have a samsung burner drive SH-S162 in my pc now, and was wondering if it could be flashed with the kreon firmware. they are both "162's" and have both had the "TS02" firmware (which mine has now) from the factory at one time. this was a cheap drive from microcenter ($29) and i might try flashing it to see what happens. i would like to hear some educated opinions on the subject first though... thanks!!

I paid $65 US for 2 units shipped, I believe it's around $38 US for 1 unit shipped in the USA.

It is the cheapest I've seen anybody selling it, and many members here have bought there unit from vesalia

Just so you know, this is a german compnay, item is being shipped internationally.

i got one also.. pretty fast ship.. you wont regret it.. like he said, 38 shipped paypal.. 2 step rip and burn process... i was seriously amazed.. still am.

I also got the drive from the same place. It took me to get it about 10 days from the day they have shiped it.
The only thing that got me worried was the packaging but the drive is working like a champ.

As ILLusions0fGrander said, it is a two step copy with Xbox Backup Creater.

Go get one and you will not regrate it.

in the uk these drives are going for 12£ thats about 22USD,. then just gotta do the firmware update ur self,.

so if u know any one in the uk get about 5,.

2 step process with this drive? can you show me exactly what those 2 steps are in xbc?

currently im using xbc to make my image and then burn it in imgburn...

I just made my first Successful back (1 of 1) of gears of war with a Samsung SH-S162L

I just upgraded the official firmware to TS06 and burned with ImgBurn. Burned at 2.0x haven't tried higher yet.
