Samsung 3.3 Firmware Please Help
« on: October 24, 2006, 07:08:00 PM »

I have an xbox here that has 3.3 firmware running   when I run Just Cause game the sounds drops out every few seconds sad.gif  so I burnt another copy and it does the same thing
So I tried  my copy of Burnout that seemed  fine .

I tried the Just Cause game backup on my xbox that is running 4.1A and the game works fine So what could be the problem?

the original Just Cause copy works fine on the xbox running 3.3

I was thinking of upgrading to 4.2A from 3.3 and see if it fixes it

cheers

maybe the laser in that drive is starting to go??? just a wild guess and a shot in the dark but...

hope not the thing is only been used about 30 minutes at the most

I'm burning a game again at 2.4x Verbatim and see what happens if that does not work then I was going to swap drive with the other xbox drive and see what happens.

I was thinking of a heat problem but some games seem to work, I played my original copy of PGR 3 and i think it might have had a dropout on the sound on the intro video but not sure.

scanned briefly, didnt see media type used, that could be number one suspect.

also, this is tech dvd chat, please post in proper forums, as this is a backup problem.

I think its a  hardware problem as the games work fine on another xbox plus I changed the drive and the same problem happens.

I have let the xbox cool down for about 4 hours and it still has this audio dropout on my Just cause game so it can't be a heat  problem

can anyone think of anything else

IMO I would try re-ripping the game and making a completely new backup.  Basically the cost of a disc just to see if it works but it seems you have tried everything else.

I can confirm that I have exactly the same problem with Dead or Alive but it is an original.

Strange.  Im going to try a earlier firmware version.
