Ok i tried to make a backup of Dead Rising here's what i have and what i did.

Samsung 162c Kreon 081
Hitachi 46 drive with opa 2.1
XBC 2.2

So i backed up the game with XBC
I ripped the PFI and DMI and SS.Bin with XBC

I merged with SS Merger 1.7b so i made a stealth image.

Burned with Clone CD 5.2.9.1

But i get Open Tray Message.

My other backups work ok but i never did the stealth bit (PFI,DMI) with them.

Don't stealth backups work with opa 2.1...?

P.S. i added video partition with SS Merger as well. Also using Verbs and pioneer 111d

Would it be better to make my stealth images with Schtrom360XtractV3.0....?

Only some people say these won't work with a hitatchi drive...

i too have the hitachi 46 drive with opa 2.1. i also use a pioneer 111d and verbatim disks. i just tried burning my 1st stealth backup(with clonecd 5.2.9.1) and it worked. the only diffence with the way i did it was i didn't add the video partion(left the box unchecked in ss merger).

also, when you say you backed up the game with xbc, what exactly do you mean? i did use xbc to get my ss, pfi, and dmi. and i used ss merger 1.7b to merge them, but i had to extract my game with wxripper, since xbc won't unlock a hitachi drive.

Whoa, I didn't know it was possible to extract PFI and/or DMI with the kreon firmware mod... Is it even possible? I know it can extract the SS properly, but PFI & DMI???

I dunno but it seemed to have ripped them...? Does this mean then that i haven't got a stealth disc...?


I dunno i can't find much info in the readme of Kreon... but in the Schtrom360XtractV3.0 readme it says...

If you back up ur game using XBC and SD-162c, then all you need to do after it rips the game is burn it with ur program of choice. XBC handles the video, DMI, PFI, and SS with no need of injecting anything. Once the image is made, jus burn it. Simple as that. A full stealth game with no need of any extra program. And if you're unsure of whether or not the back up you jus made is stealth, you can check it in the  "Image Tools" tab, and it will let you know if the video, DMI, PFI, and the SS (as of v2.3) are valid. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)
