hi guys

can anyone tell me what the difference is between these two drives?

I have a 111DBK, is the dangerous bro firmware 8.25 the best to use?

1. What two drives? 2. That firmware revision should be sufficient for your needs.

At a guess you are questioning if there is any difference between the 111D and the 111DBK.
the answer is only the colour. The BK on the end indicates it is Black in colour.
What works for the 111D will work for the black one.

Whoops, were you talking about the difference between the Pioneer 111L and the Pioneer 111D? If so then there is a difference. The Pioneer 111L supports all the formats that the 111D does but in addition it supports writing to DVD-RAM and I believe it supports Lightscribe. That being said you can crossflash the 111D over to the 111L using a couple of steps. Not sure on the details for the process but I know that they have the info on the firmware page. http://www.rpc1.org. As far as the 360 is concerned though there is no real difference between the 111D and the 111L.

if so, ill throw it in the backup guide, and then it will be one less thing that needs to be repeated daily.

not much, just enough to put an end to the posts.

the various 111d models (color codes, 111bk or whatever they are)

which pioneers arent the same as 111d (cant be flashed with 111d firmware)

should take but a couple minutes, i just dont know all the models, and as you know, you are the media/burner master at this point.

ok i crossed flashed to 111L and now my verbatim disks are only writing at 2.4x where as with the stock 111d firmware they wrote at upto 6x is this right ? not to happy if it is ill be going back to pioneer stock
