plz post what the best dvd burner is and firmware cuz im buyin a dvd burner today

The best DVD burner is the pioneer 111d and the best firmware for it is from dangerous brohers because it changes the booktype to dvd-rom.  The best fimrware for the samsung drive is Xtreme3.3 and for a hitachi its garyopa's.  All that info could have been found by using the little button named "search" try it next time, thats how I learned  cool.gif

pioneer 111d - which is called the DVR-710 in retail stores.

Danger bros, 1.23 firmware.
(once you flash 1.29 you cant downgrade flash) (I think?)
and 1.23 works great anyway.

Verbatum MKM 001 or MKM 003 discs are the most compatable.

I rip using xbox backup creator
burn using imgburn(dont forget to set layerbreak manualy)

works every time with hitachi 46

That would be the one.  Just to clarify the RW that you see on your Verbatim D/L DVD+R IS NOT indicating an RW disc.  RW is the symbol for the DVD Alliance (+ format supporters).  Don't ask me what genius came up with that but the point is that it doesn't stand for Rewritable media.  Either way Verbatim D/L DVD+R is by far the best choice for D/L media regardless of the application.  I wouldn't touch any other D/L media given compatibility and durability issues.  Error rate scans on other media sure aren't pretty.  Occasionally people get good scans off of other media but not consistently so and not in great numbers.
