Follow my guide HERE and see if that improves your luck.  I haven't tried my version on the 2 games your trying but if it rips with no errors with my tutorial it should work.  All the other games I've done this way have worked so far.

If you have a Hitachi drive then yes I do recommend the Birdy flasher with the mediacheckv2fixed.  That is what I use and it works.  It might not be the backups.  The Birdy flasher recognizes more media.

I've been reading some things, does the birdy 2.2 still have to be patched for the 46 drive in order to read all media?

3rd post in a row in my own thread, I wish somebody would help...Ok, turns out I was using an unpatched birdy fw.  I used the new patched version and good news: 4 previously coastered copies of Project Gotham work.  But I already got that working by using a new DVD burner.  I'm now burning Dead or Alive which did not need a modified layout file.  If this works I know the problem is WX ripper because that's three that worked without modified layouts and three with modified layouts that didn't work.

sounds like only your video partition is working.  Perhaps you should try and rip another .iso.

I have tried that 3 times, and all have come out as coasters. Don't want to waste a fourth untill i know it will work.

Any other suggestions are much appreciated

I know the feeling: 9 coasters.  Perhaps it's the SS file?  Have you tried different SS's?  Doesn't sound like an SS problem though but I'm still only about 2 weeks into this project.
