Im gonna buy a new burner, but i heard the liteon and Benq are just as good as the pioneer or sometimes better is this true?
Which brand do u recommened i know the majority of u are gonna say the pioneer but can some liteon and benq users post some feedback on your drives.

MEDIA: Verbatim DVD+R DL
BURNER: LiteOn SHN 165H6S with latest offical firmware
METHOD: Bookset to DVD-ROM, burnt with latest CDRWin @ 2.4x
FIRMWARE: Maximus-Garyopa Hitachi-LG Xtreme v2.3 Stealth 8in1, flashed with the version that does not support SS extraction
RESULTS: Works perfectly for Saints Row, Godfather, NHL 07, Dead or Alive, Table Tennis, Just Cause, Splinter Cell, Condemmed, etc etc. One or more of these steps may not be necissay (ie, setting the booktype), but I decided to play it on the safe side and it worked great for me. I've never had any dirty disc or tray empty or had to use any tricks to get media to boot. 100% success rate.

All backups work 100% with IMGBurn no skipping when burned at 1x

Update: 03/11/2006

NEC 4551A will NOT burn 360 disks of any media with OPA 2.1 and a Hitachi 47D.
Soon as I installed a 111D 100% success rate.

Special Notes:
This is a drive found in my 20" iMac. I burned with ImgBurn within a native windows environment (via Boot Camp) and It seems to Auto Bitset the media as well.
