Best Burner To Get For Burning 360 Games?
« on: September 05, 2006, 05:15:00 PM »

I'm looking to spend around $30 and I've heard both of those are great burners. I'm going to be burning for both Hitachi and Samsung drives (got 2 xbox360s).

I heard that the Pioneer is good fro Hitachi but havne't heard how it does on the Samsung drive.
I heard that the NEC is good for the Samsung drive but haven't heard if it's good for the Hitachi.

Is one of them really good on both drives?

thanks for the help

coming from someone that actually owns both of them, get the Pioneer 111D
the NEC works, but you may as well get one that is more compatible.
Oh and the TS works fine with both drives (NEC and P111D)
which i am not sure about the NEC and the Hitachi, go with the one thats more future proof.

I have the 3550a and it rocks for my samsungs.

What is great is you can burn at 8x without problems for those of us that do not like waiting 40 minutes for a burn.

But none of my DVD's work on hitachis . So if you have a hitachi do not get the NEC.

The 3550A didn't work at all on my Hitachi drive. Took it bac k and ordered a 111D which works perfectly. I'd say go for the pioneer.

I know the Pioneer will work on the Hitachi drive, but I'm going to use my backups on a Samsung drive to.

That's why i'm trying to verify that a game burned on a Pioneer drive will work on a Samsung drive.

Otherwise it's like the NEC drive which only works on one. I'd have to look for another option in that case

The pioneer works just fine on both. I know this because my friend has the samsung drive and also has the same burner. His backups work perfectly on it.

Yup, the Pioneer has been confirmed to burn working backups for the Sammy AS well as being one of the few that is the most consistant with the fussy Hitachi, so you get the best of both worlds with the Pioneer, the 3550 on the other hand will probably only burn you working backups on the Sammy.  That and the Pioneer 111D as a whole is a better all around burner (better chipset, firmware options, burn quality, ect.) .
