Sorry, thats a little too high of a price for me. Oh and by the way, It is nowhere near as damaged as the one that you posted, there are just 1-2 traces broken near the underside of the lpc.

I think A@ron does simple trace repairs really cheap.

I should have clarified:  the $40 includes the mod install and covers nearly all rebuild needs.  I've found it to be quite competitive locally.

Not that it would be hard to miss some damage on a board this bad . . .

As it turns out, near the pads for the second memory chip on the top side of the board there is a cap ripped off as well.  Chrono pointed this out as he was the one who sold me this POS (He's a good guy though, I knew the board was "unbelievably bad" before I bought it).

I’ll be taking another pic and updating the website in the next day or two.

All repairs include a top noch solder install including a socketed D0 for easy chip removal, should you choose to upgrade your chip in the future.

the coolest mod. the socket d0 is awsome. you can VERY EASILY w/o any soldering add an on off switch, and with a pin header and the manually grounded d0 the xbox itself turns into a flashing station. i hot swap chips all the time and flash them. although its not really recommded it works well.

40 is actually a very good price... includes mod install and fixes the problem..

Yes but what does that have to do with this blown up board?

blink.gif  I should've taken some pictures!  My buddy would come over somtimes, and I'd say, "wait, wait, you HAVE TO SEE this one!!  What the FUCK were they thinking?"

One with the entire LPC, top and bottom D0 TOTALLY trashed, it looked like someone had used acid-core solder and a 100-watt soldering gun.  I mean, the PCB had been eaten into.  This board was a loss, no way to get it going.

A motherboard entirely covered in an oily film, like it had taken a ride on the conveyor at the Coca-Cola bottling plant, then sprayed with WD-40.  I bathed it in alcohol and distilled water, replaced the TSOP, and it served a tour of duty as my test/config motherboard for almost a year.  R.I.P.!

My favorite: One with MULTIPLE burned/broken traces on the top and underside of the board, some nowhere NEAR the LPC and D0 points.  Also three missing caps and three missing resistors.  I repaired FIVE traces on bottom, THREE on top, made FIVE repairs on the LPC, and replaced the three resistors and three caps, and got it going.  Donated it to a friend (a PS2 owner in need).

Too many to count: Boards with resistors and caps that had been knocked off, and mountains of solder applied in their place.  Which obviously (to us) didn't work.   Amazingly, most of these still worked when the correct component was replaced.

I've seen my share of horror stories, most related to ram upgrades and plain user incompetence. nB the underside trace labeled in yellow as a missing component is a bridge point for a tsop flash I believe. You can also see the top set is destroyed so I would guess either a failed tsop flash so they attempted a LPC chip or visa versa.
