the 720a is the 720 ,check if there is a firmware update for the drive,
should work fine ,

you must have messed up the backup somehow

If you have the iso of the game,make sure you have appropriate SS.bin and you need to merge it.Download dvdinfopro and see if your drive supports bitsetting.Choose dvd-rom and press dvdr+dl and close to tray.And use clonecd to burn the game.I recommend geremiah media patch v2 as firmware.

i have a nec 3540 and it works fine with my samsung using any media and it workes on my cuzzins hitachi but only using verbatim cds

after the mediacheck v2 by geremia the list seems outdated.

my nec 3540a works perfect with ritek media (traxdata,memorex,ridata)..

no need for the more exp.verbs

with mediacheck hack v2 there is no need for -rom booktype ,
the v2 mediacheck hack is not yet implemented into the hitachi firmware
this list was compiled before the v2 mediacheck hack came out ,

i never said i needed booktype did i?
it's always best to leave it at -rom, not to mention i burn stuff for people with old fw versions who do need it

I have the same drive, did you change the firmware? what version do you have? also what is the model number on your verbs. I have the same drive and but my backups won't work, they only on my TS.

I find it odd that people are reporting successful results with unsupported burners for SAMSUNG drives....
