Bad Image Or Bad Burn
« on: August 15, 2006, 07:18:00 PM »

Whats the best way to find out if i have a bad image, or the burn went bad.

In this case NTSC Dead Rising.

I load up my backup, the screen goes black; like it were loading an intro. During black screen a dirty disc error pops up.

When I test the disc in Nero Cd-dvd speed, it shows the disc is set to booktype 'DVD-Rom' though i dont have a bitsetting capable drive.

I used Verbatim 2.4x DVD+R DL discs.

Should i try burning again?

Thanks

if the booktype is set to -rom that means your burner does it automatically,

which burner is it ?  if you havent got any other backups to work using that burner ,

then....   yeah , get the pioneer 111d , or one of the new liteon or benq burners

If you ripped your own SS, and you dumped the game with wxripper and got no CRC errors w/o modifying the layout file and your final file size for the dump was 7.05GB then your rip was probably fine.
