I think you should make another copy with another media like Ridata.... i see many people in other forum that run copys of this game with no problems...  may the problem is you rip or the media...try again

im guessing the people who dont have to update, already use live.. people who update, will have to go to the latest, probably included on the disk.

its either update, or dont play any future 360 game pretty much... unless someone has a way around updates, which i doubt at this point.

It does make you update straight from the disc. I had this problem with Hitman: Blood Money, I backed it up, burned it, put it in the DVD tray, began to boot up when the 360 OS popped up and said something like "You must update your Xbox 360 before you can play this game..". I updated it, then it said this disc was dirty. I'm guessing that MS is putting countermeasures to the firmware hacks straight onto new games, so any new hacked firmware will be overidden by MS.  grr.gif

My sammy works fine even though I accept the updates on all of my games(including hitman), so I think its just a media/burner issue. Dont you think ms would crank up some fancy warning screen instead of dirty disc error if backup is detected?

"You are using an unauthorized copy of this game. You are a bad bad bad person, and are gonna rot in hell" etcetc

Well I don't think MS would want the public to know, they know about the piracy on their system. So they'll want to stay quiet.  tongue.gif

But the only person who would ever see such a screen is a person who is already acutely aware of the facts.

My backup works just like my retail copy. Network cable plugged in and all.
