Ive just played it for about five hour in the past couple of days with no problems.  Then all of a sudden it froze.  So i put oblivion in and played for about an hour now that froze w/messed up sound.  My system has never froze on me before now with this game all my games do. unsure.gif  unsure.gif

There was a HDD cache clearing procedure that supposedly fixed stuttering and crashing issues with Oblivion, perhaps the Dead Rising cache is screwed up and a similar procedure is what needs to be done for Dead Rising.
There was also a generic HDD clearing code one that wipes out all downloaded patches and etc. I'll give it a try later on when I read up some more.

Oblivion cache clear
Generic HDD clear

I had problems loading too, this is what I did to make it work:

I found out that my HDD was causing problems, cause I could load the game and play when I had my HDD disconnected. So, this is what I did:

Start game with HDD disconnected and a memory card inserted.
Load game and play past the first helicopter ride taking pics.
When you get to the first save point, save the game to your memory card and then shutdown.
Put the HDD back on, and transfer the save game/profile to the HDD, and then you can load the save point and it should work off the HDD from now on.

Thats what I had to do to make it work, I foudn this after burnign like 4 copies. So anyone havign probs, try mu solution and let me/us know if it works...

I backed mine up and it worked fine.

I only played it for about 45 minutes but I didn't have any problems.

I have had media issues though, with other games.

I used Verbatim's and went 3 for 3.
I used Memorex and went 0 for 3 (I may have a corrut rip though, I am going to test with Verbatim's when I get home)

Exactly my problem, wish I read the thread earlier after burning 3 separate copies of it, thanks so much! Gonna run to Gamestop today and pick up a card!

Well apparently it doesn't like it when I transferred the save over, still hangs on loading, so I guess if I want to play Dead Rising I'll just have that USB memory card in place....

I did two backups and both give me the dirty disc error after the ride in the helicopter... im using ridata media on a pioneer 111d, i've done backups of other games and they work fine

i even unplugged the HDD, but i get the same error in the same place...
