"For Samsung drive the booktype MUST be set to DVD+R DL".... that sucks

i guess the pioneer not gonna work then, because it always sets the booktype to -rom for Dl

there are some good liteon drives , but dont know which model is the best for 360 backups ,

one thing i know for sure is that nec burners suck for making 360 backups ,

but with the nme thing , .. who knows

If you're using the chip, how are you ripping your backups then?

are you serious!?!

with the nme chip you need dual layer to be set at DVD+R DL not DVD-ROM?
shit if thats true, just do it the simple no mod needed way, and your 20+ odd games will work!

man Id be pissed with 40+ dollars in coasters

Hi dpappyp...I went through the exact same thing..had about 15 coasters and nothing would ever work with the NME..I finally gave up, pulled the chip out and flashed it with the current software available and have had no problems since.  3 of the disk that I though were coasters ended up working.  I did have to buy the pioneer 111d that everyone has a boner over and it works great.

The flash was extremely straight forward and I have one of those dvd drive connectivity kits that made connecting the 360 dvd drive to the PC and getting into modeb really easy.

I just didn't have any more time to mess with the NME.  I'm not even sure that damn thing works but I know some folks have said they can get it working..

Best of luck regardless of what you do..
