360 Dvd Drive Backup Compatability Threads

threads on hardware / software to use for a working backup are getting out of hand and need to be centralized, please use these instead of making new threads.

as usual, head mods, feel free to update/move or whatever needs done, im adding this as a temp pin, because the number of threads on this subject just seems to be increasing, and hopefully, this will help that situation.
