Are Memorex Dvd+r Dl Any Good ?
« on: July 30, 2006, 04:52:00 AM »

Okay, I had a lot of coasters made w/ my Verbatim DVD+R DL discs thanks to CloneCD not liking my PC or something I don't know... IMGBurn works fine over here (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif).  I am using a Pioneer 111d and was just wondering becuase Memorex is cheaper (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) if the Memorex DVD+R DL Discs work well in the Hitachi's and the Samsungs.  2 of my friends have hitachi's and I and my other buddy have a samsung and I just want to know becasue a 50 Pack of these DL Discs @ Futureshop is $129.99 whereas a 20 pack of the verbatim's are $69.99 :S

from my personal exprence.....I have had 100% burn completion with every backup I have made,Around 13 or 14 of them...I only use memorex DL....I have a Sammy with pioneer 110d Firmware DB 1.22 automatic booktype setting...Using clone CD......They are the best so for as i can buy 3 packs at Target for 12.00 or goto Bestbuy and get a 15 pack for 25.00.....I burn a 2.4x........I did have luck with all Verbs but the a little more pricey and I have not seen them in the 3 packs....

i highly suggest using the best possible media for your 360... at this time, verbs are the way to go.

30 for 60 bucks at samsclub.

I bought a 10 pack of Memorex and the 1st 5 worked fine.  Then the rest gave me open tray errors on my Samsung.  I re-burnt those games with Verbatims and they worked fine.  I'm not using Memorex any more.  BTW both are $17.99 per 10 pack at Microcenter online or in the store if you are like me and lucky enough to have one near by.

Hello,

I had bought Memorex 25pk for $45 from bestbuy. I backed up some games with no problems. After a month or so I started getting "Open Tray", then I had to mess with the adjusting the laser. Then after 2 weeks I started getting the "dirty disc error...". I just bought a new laser for my TS-943 and bought VERBATIMS. I decided not to put any other disks except VERBATIMS.

I got VERBATIMS for 20pk for $27.10 or $28 plus $9 shipping = $37.00 from:

http://www.pagecomputers.com/

They also have the printable datalifeplus for 20pk $37.
Whats the difference between the $27 and $37? Quality wise?

I am 3 for 3 on backups using Verbatim's.......

and 0 for 3 on backups using Memorex

I am going to trouble shoot a little more tonight,  I'm going to try a Verb if it works then I know it was the media.  If it doesn't then most likely a corrupt file.

I will let you know
