Choppy Gaming

While playing LotrII the battle for middle earth on a Memorex (RITEK- D01) disc burned at 2.4x with a Pioneer A08 , I've been experiencing choppy playback- is this quite normal, or it should be 100% fluid with a Verbatim disc?

heh.. i noticed choppy playback on the original, when there was a lot going on.
