My 'burning' Questions About Nba Live 06
« on: July 24, 2006, 01:46:00 PM »

Yeah, I went through your same pain.  This is the only game of mine I've ever had a problem with.  I wasted about 7 or 8 disks before finally giving up.  I kept thinking it was something i was doing, but then I went and did another game after that, and it worked like a champ.  Sorry I can't be of much help.

I have no clue, but I'm running out of ideas. I ripped it again last night, and burned it using ImgBurn instead of DVD Decrypter as I've heard about people getting better results, yet it still didn't work. Seriously, I've ripped it 4 times now using 2 discs, and 2 burning apps, yet it's the same story every time! How can this launch title be so 'hack proof' but new games like Chromehounds and Prey are a piece of cake?

So I ask this:

1) Has anyone gotten their NBA Live backup to work, if so which process did you use?
2) What would cause the 'Unrecognized Disc' error vs. the typical 'Put this in a 360' video?
3) Is there an OSX program that allows you to bitset and change layer break like DVD Decrypter?
4) Any other tips/ideas/suggestions?

Thanks!

That subject title is "not cool".

*I say give up and save your precious media for Live 07 which is just around the corner.  06 wasn't so "hot" anyway.  Shoulda "fired" those developers.

Nice pun action! Seriously though, I know I should just say screw it and wait for 07, but I rarely succumb to a challenge. Besides I've backed up every other title I have, so I want to complete the collection.

I wanted to at least figure out how many people have actually backed this title up. If they have, how did they go about doing it?

Thanks

I am having the same problem.  I have backed up several games with my PIONEER 111D firm 1.23 using Verbatim DL discs.  NBA LIVE 06 and DOA4 keep giving me problems.  I keep getting dirty disc error when they are placed in my 360.

What burner are you using?  Could be the burner.

Strange. DoA 4 worked for me, but not Live 06. Do you have access to another burner you could try (to rule out the Pioneer 111D)?

I'm using an LG GSA-4163B with latest firmware on my PC. I've used this to successfully burn every single other game though (over 10), including DoA 4.

I could always try burning it using the SuperDrive in my iMac G5 (to rule out the LG burner), but I don't know of any OSX programs that allow you to set booktype and layer break. If you know of any, let me know! Too bad I don't have one of the new Intel macs then I could just boot windows with that!

I have successfully burned NBA Live 06. I used a md-16x3dvd9-8xe Mad Dog Multimedia burner with the book type settings set to DVD-Rom. www.mdmm.com is there website. I used Verbatim DL discs. I did it using the first instructions that commidore EVA released. Using DVD info pro and ISO buster, and then the batch file. I burned my disc at 2.4x.
