Is The Problem Ss, Firmware, Dvdinfo, Or Isobuster?
« on: July 24, 2006, 06:00:00 AM »

PC:
AMD Athlon64 3000+
BioStart tForce6100 (nForce 410 chipset)
1GB RAM
Pioneer 111D

Xbox: Premium w/ Hitachi v59
ModeB loaded using cross wire method

I successfully loaded the Hitachi in ModeB using the risky cross wire method (I didn't have a 1k resistor), used an Xtreme 7-in-1 flasher (successsfully, I think). And now I am able to read the Hitachi on my PC, so I don't think this thread belongs in the firmware/DVD hacking forum.

My troubles come after ripping the secutiry secros (ss.bin). I enter the 4 custom commands, then send the fifth (with CDB size of 10 and under 'Media', correct?). I then open ISObuster and go to 'Extract From-To'. Enter the appropriate length, but right after I fill in 'game.iso' file name, it says it can't read sector 3519. I follow directions to always fill with zeros automatically. ISObuster ran for two hours and in the end I think almost every sector could not be read. I'm thinking this is a security issue. I haven't tried burning because I don't want to waste the few valuable Verbatim DVD+R DL's I have. But if someone tells me this is normal I'll go ahead and try it.

I think I may have figured out my problem. First of all, I have a v59 Hitachi and currently the xtreme0800 firmware only allows Samsungs and 47 Hitachis to retrieve the SS from a disc. I found a place to retrieve SS.bin files, and intend to use wxRipper and my PC drive to rip a Xbox disc.
