Backup Not Working On Toshiba Drive Xtreme20.bin Firmware
« on: July 15, 2006, 08:25:00 PM »

I made a backup of Prey on dvd+r DL Ritek media. The file was patched with the ss.bin. When I put the game in the Xbox 360 I get a message saying

To play this game put it in a xbox 360 console

I used clonecd to burn the back up.

I flashed the drive with xtreme20.bin. Everything flashed fine. The 360 plays originals fine.

Any suggestions.

Edit:  My burner is a NEC 3550A with 1.05 firmware.

That error means you do not have your DVD drive key inserted properly.

It plays all my originals fine. If the key was not inserted right then wouldn't my originals not work?

The search feature needs to be turned back on. It would make thimgs alot easier to trouble shoot.

So would putting more detail of the rip method etc etc in your post. If you want people to take a shot at this you need to supply more detailed info

you probably used KDX to put in your key and that is why you got this message.
Hex edit your key into xtreme20.bin and then flash again.  Should be a tutorial in the FAQ in the stickies

I did use a hex editor to insert my key. I used a tut from clevermod site and used the free hex editor they link to in their tut.

I also used another program ( can't remember the name ) to patch the firmware so I could double check to see if I patched everything right. I flashed the firmware that I used hex editor on back to my 360.

Chancer, I don't understand how me not telling how I patched my game have anything to do with the search function being off. Alot of these posts by myself and others can be avoided if the search function on. You can see I don't post much because I try to read and find my own answers.

Simple. when you do post for help you should give the fullest info possible inclusing drive types , rip method, media , programs used.Posting some detail but not  every piece of the jigsaw makes a difference.
If you can't understand why that helps people help you then I can see why there is not every detail in your post

If u are using version 2 u should copy the drive code correctly so follow these steps carefully...  copy from your orgin.bin from line 4000-43f0....   then open the xtreme20.bin u must select again from 4000-43f0 and paste the code again on the same numbers after highlighting them ....

the problem here is that when u copied ur numbers you should select from $4000-43F0 Using your mouse select everything from 4000-43f0. Make sure you dont select the line 4400 though, just up to that point as it shows in the picture on the link below

and here is the link

Thanks. I'll give that a try. All the tuts say to copy up 4200, but I did notice that the readme for 2.0 said up to 4400. I read in a post here that someone confirmed 4200 to be correct. Its worth a shot either way.

I'm having the same problem but with the nme-360 chip.  Do you also recommend converting the iso to a dvd file? I've already made two coasters and don't need a third, as I am a loner and never have company.

thanks
