Can you get an NTSC game to work on a PAL system?

I am asking because I recently bought Call of Duty 2 on the net and unfortunalty it is NTSC and I have a PAL system. I thought by applying a PAL ss to my NTSC image that I ripped would solve the issue. I now just recieve the "tray open" message. Is there anyway to get this working?

Lastly, what other differences are there between PAL and NTSC games, other than SS's?

Your first post was closed. You Know why. So you remake it.
The only legal SS to apply is the one from the game. Discussion of applying a different one is not taking place here. sell the game buy the correct region. Not to mention how did you rip the game if its NTSC and your console is PAL
