if there were not any crc errors, and you use good media, and you follow the tutorials properly... and you flashed your drive correctly, you should be fine.

Ripping And Burning With Differrent Drivers

let me know how that goes. I have the SOHW 1693S from black friday never used it because it was so noisy (well the hitachi puts it to shame) but i'd give it a shot. I made 1 coaster from a bad rip. It seems to burn everything at 4X on my PC on +R DL KS0B firmware.

I'll go reburn a backup this weekend and try to rip the original with both drives.

you can use a binary file compare in unix or dos (fc /b gamerippedonliteon.bin gamerippedon111d.bin)

likewise you can byte compare SS sectors (fc /b ssfromsamsung.bin ssFromHitachi.bin) to see if there are changes. If you see anything different, you have an issue.

Also if you rip the game 3 times. then binary compare then (fc /b gamerip1.bin gamerip2.bin) (fc /b gamerip2.bin gamerip3.bin) you should see the SAME THING.

fc /b can handle 14GB files i just tested it. If you get 3 rips and they have differences (any hex output) then you are not using a reliable ripping source. The data never changes.

all 2k/xp pc's should be able to use up to 137gb on  fc (file compare) in /b (binary) mode to check yourself.

i'd rip on the lite-on then rip on the pio, then fc /b liteon.bin pio.bin
then if they don't match
i'd rip on lite-on 3 times, fc /b 1stlite 2ndlite  ,fc /b 2ndlite  3rdlite , if those dont match move on to pio
rip 3 times, fc /b 1stpio 2ndpio fc/b 2ndpio 3rdpio if those don't match you got some seriously bad source material or bad memory lol
