Hitachi 59 Drive Giving Unreadable Errors
« on: June 26, 2006, 12:18:00 AM »

Hey guys I was just curious if other people are running into my issues. The first method to burn I tried:

CloneCD (latest version)
NEC ND-3500AG (2.18 firmware, what came with it)
Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x disc

Second go around:

DVD Decryptor (whatever the last version was)
NEC ND-3500AG (Updated to latest 2.1a firmware)
Verbatim DVD+R DL 2.4x disc

All I can ever get is the disc will read, the xbox will start booting up and I get a black screen, and I can hear the drive clicking a little bit, then the blade comes out giving the Unreadible disc error telling me my discs are dirty. When I opened up the image file in DVD Decryptor it said the title of the disc was XBOX 360 and everything, so I assume my images are correct. I'm getting sick of wasting these Verbatims and not having them work. Anybody have any alternative ideas? After getting a thompson drive in my first xbox I thought I would get lucky with a easy to use DVD rom this 2nd time around, boy was I wrong!

Oh and I almost forgot, Original still boots ok.

To follow up my post I think I'm actually gonna just see about buying a Pioneer 111d drive. It sounds to me like from other threads that NEC blows goats with the Hitachi.
