4-09, 4-10 ... Either Worth It?

I've got the 4-06 CVS build. Is there any improvement in either the 4-09 or 4-10 build? Which is better?  <

Ok no offense or anything but this post is useless. you can find out the changes by checking the bugs.txt off the cvs. its not like the changes are some secret. go look for yourself. i personally just update the cvs daily to see whats happening. i only compile if i see something i'd like fixed or something new to try.

check out
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/xbmc/XBMC/bugs.txt

WOO XBMC is AWESOME!!! best thing on my xbox by far.  <

Ah, well I always look at the bugs.txt in the compiled version that I download, and it's not as pretty as the one you linked to. Thanks!  <

The 4-10 build is missing the extra codecs. 4-9 is working good for me from the get-go :D  <

Appears streaming from my ReplayTV works now as of 4-09, while it didn't in 3-30.

Now if they throw a buffer in there.. The Replay5080 is on a Cisco 2924 with the Xbox.  For some reason FTP uploads to the Xbox are in the ~ 200K/s range, but downloads from it are closer to 5000-6000K's.

Either there's something weird with the Xbox's network handling or it's my demo machine.  Either way though the Xbox chokes on playback unless you pause every 10 seconds or so so it can catch up.

That's the only thing I really noticed though.

I have the 4-19 build and am having the problem with my ReplayTV, it works for like 10 seconds at a time then starts freezing, it starts geting frames early & late and the cache goes down to 0%

I have a ReplayTV 5040 & Cisco 2950 Switch, this is really bugging me!

I always get above 10Mbps when FTPing, both up and down, so i know it isnt a connection or speed issue.

Try adjusting the cache in XBMC and see if that helps.. I get fast FTPs no problem within XBMC (10MB both ways) but in the EvoX Dash I get 600K/s up from my machine and 10MB down.

Decode thread is slowing the Xbox or something.. The ReplayTV's MPEG2 is not clean, has some artifacts in it.. So it could be any number of things.. Starts off strong though.

Hopefully they'll improve it.. GREAT Feature, just needs some work.

phunzoid:
The extra codecs that he's refering to are added by the compiler in the mplayer/codecs directory.
Just copy them into the same directory on ur new build.
