I am pretty sure the NEC is a no go, as for the Lite on head here

Should be able to find your drive, and I think the Liteon has been fairly successful (If you are able to get the hitachi flash to work of coarse)

I used these

dvd writer: liteon allwriter
dvd media: traxdata 2.4x

all burns worked perfectly.

I have tested multiple times (8 discs) with the nec 3500ag and it simply will not work. I have a pioneer coming in on tuesday.

I have both a Pioneer 109 and a SOHW 1693S flashed with code bros.

Both are working great with hitachi/verbatim but still need a soft reset with my 46d.

what flash do you use for the sohw 1693s
the kc4b patched-cf
or
the kc4b patched-cf sonyid

or will make a difference
will dvd info pro be able to change the bisetting to dvd rom because before a flash the dvd burner is not supported with bisetting

any help this will be great before i was going to buy a pioneer 111d today

i have a Pioneer 111D TDB 1.23 and Lite-on SOHW-1693S RPC2 "KS0B" . Honestly i think the lite-on works better. I had it from last november but its stupid noisy on pc bootup sounds like its going to take off and fly away and slow to do IDE-scan on my old mobo so i put it away.

Both set booktype of DVD-ROM on +R DL. The Liteon onlyburns at 4X speed. I wouldn't go out and buy a lite-on especially this old model, i'm just saying i found a place for it
